My Review of Avengers

I have seen the new movie “The Avengers” twice now. Now, I will not say that the Avengers is a perfect film. It wasn’t. It was a superhero movie. No superhero movie deserves to be called a perfect film. However, it was one of the most mind-blowing movies I have seen in a long time. Bear in mind that the only pre-Avengers film I saw was Captain America. I had not yet seen Thor, The Incredible Hulk or either of the Iron Mans. But that does not matter. This is the movie of the year so far. There have been two films hyped to the gills this year. One was The Hunger Games which I found to be quite underwhelming. The Avengers was even better than I thought it would be. First of all: The Story. Okay, superhero stories can get only so original. Doesn’t matter. In “The Avengers,” a bunch of superheroes team up to defeat a really powerful villian who has a weapon that can destroy the entire planet. Yup, that’s original. But when using a plot that’s been done to death, you might as well try and make it more interesting. That’s what the Avengers did. This team isn’t perfect. Iron Man and Captain America hate each other. One of the good guys was bad for 80% of the movie. The characters are one of the greatest strengths of this movie. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) is a pompous buffoon. Captain America (Chris Evans) is that goody twoshoes All-American kid. Black Widow (Scarlet Johansoon) is a seducting sly character. The Hulk (Mark Ruffiao) is a tortured soul. These characters are incredible. Finally, a superhero movie with likable characters for everyone. These actors knew what they were doing. The special effects were superb. When you watch this movie, it’s like you really are there, 3D or no 3D. The Avengers has taken in over 1 billion dollars at the box office. Watch. It will take in millions more.
