Opening Day 2012

It’s my favorite time of year. The time of year when the depression from the end of football officially ends and a new season begins. Baseball. God’s gift to the summer. I love baseball. I love the Red Sox. I think it’s gonna be a hard season though. Without Andrew Bailey, the new closer is Alfredo Aceves. I don’t know how that’s going to work. We got a solid lineup in 7 positions. Ellsbury in center, Pedroia at second, Youk at third, Gonzo at first, Ortiz in the DH hole, and Salty behind the plate. Cody Ross will be great at left, then right when Crawford comes back. Ryan Sweeney should provide decent backup but is our weakest link. Mike Aviles at short does nothing for me but he’ll have to do until we get Jose Iglesias up here. The pitching rotation is strong 1-3: Lester, Beckett and Buchholz. I like Felix Dubront, he’ll do really well. Bard’s going to be a nightmare I bet, but we’ll see. All in all, I’m not feeling too optimistic for the Red Sox this year, but I think we may end up okay. We will wait and see. Go Sox!
